For the Beauty of the Earth

In a recent review of four books by evangelical authors addressing our calling to “creation care,” Christianity Today recognized Steven Bouma-Prediger’s For the Beauty of the Earth: A Christian Vision for Creation Care (Baker Academic) as the most commendable, primarily because Bouma-Prediger ”faithfully treats texts in light of the larger biblical narrative and the cultures in which they were written.”

“Churches in Hamilton Committed to Caring for Creation”

Our Vision: That churches, motivated by love of God and love of neighbour, would become increasingly engaged in making Hamilton a flourishing, healthy, sustainable city by:

Addressing issues of environmental abuse and injustice
Exploring more ecologically responsible forms of community living
Cultivating greater respect for God’s creation

Our Purpose: To develop a deeper commitment in our churches to care for creation and
address issues of environmental abuse and injustice

Our Objectives:

Help each church to form an environment team within the church, commissioned by the church’s leadership to cultivate greater environmental awareness and commitment in the church as a whole.
Enable effective cooperation between churches
Facilitate cooperative efforts
